Quick summary

Challengeez collects the information needed to run your account, deliver our features (challenges, livestreams, podcasts, vlogs, messaging, and the Boutique marketplace), keep the platform safe, and process payments. We do not sell your personal data to advertisers. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account.

1. Who we are

Challengeez is operated by Qweek LLC("Challengeez," "we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you use the Challengeez mobile app and related services (collectively, the "Service").

By using Challengeez, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Policy.

2. Information we collect

a. Information you provide

  • Account information: email address, username, password (hashed), profile photo, bio, date of birth, and any other details you add to your profile.
  • Identity verification: for creators using monetization features, we may verify your identity via Stripe Identity (government-issued ID, selfie). Stripe processes this data; we receive only the verification result.
  • Content: challenges, posts, videos, livestreams, podcasts, vlogs, comments, messages, voice notes, and Boutique listings you create.
  • Payment information: for Boutique sales and purchases, payment details are collected and processed by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers.
  • Communications: when you contact our support team, we keep the contents of your messages.

b. Information collected automatically

  • Device information: device model, operating system version, app version, language, time zone, and a unique device identifier.
  • Usage data: the screens you view, features you use, search queries, and interactions with content. This helps us improve the app.
  • Crash and performance data: we use Sentry to collect crash reports and performance data to fix bugs.
  • Log data: IP address, request timestamps, and basic network information for security and abuse prevention.

c. Information you grant permission for

  • Camera and microphone: used for livestreams, vlogs, podcasts, video calls, and recording content. Only accessed when you actively use these features.
  • Photo library: used to upload images and videos to posts, challenges, and the Boutique.
  • Push notifications: sent for messages, challenge updates, livestream alerts, and Boutique activity. You can disable these in iOS Settings.
  • Speech recognition: used to convert your voice to text when you choose voice input.

3. How we use your information

  • Create and manage your account.
  • Deliver core features (challenges, broadcasts, messaging, Boutique).
  • Process payments and payouts via Stripe.
  • Send transactional notifications (e.g., new messages, payment confirmations).
  • Personalize your feed and recommendations.
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
  • Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
  • Communicate with you about product updates and support requests.

4. How we share information

We share your information only as described below. We do not sell your personal information.

  • With other users: your profile, public posts, challenges, broadcasts, and Boutique listings are visible to other users. Direct messages are visible only to the people in the conversation.
  • Service providers: we use trusted third parties to operate the Service:
    • Supabase — database, authentication, file storage
    • Stripe — payment processing, identity verification, and payouts
    • Apple — Sign in with Apple, push notifications, in-app purchases
    • Expo — push notification delivery and app updates
    • Jitsi / WebRTC — live video and audio streaming infrastructure
    • Sentry — error and crash reporting
    • Cloudflare — web infrastructure and content delivery
  • Legal and safety: we may disclose information when required by law, in response to valid legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Challengeez, our users, or the public.
  • Business transfers: if Challengeez is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

5. Data retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we permanently remove your profile, posts, challenges, messages, and other personal content within 30 days, except where we are required to retain certain data for legal, financial, or safety reasons (e.g., transaction records, abuse reports).

6. Your rights and choices

  • Access and update: view and edit your profile information at any time in Settings.
  • Delete your account: Settings → Account → Delete Account. This permanently removes your data within 30 days.
  • Export your data: email privacy@challengeez.com to request a copy of your account data.
  • Manage permissions: control camera, microphone, photos, and notifications in iOS Settings → Challengeez.
  • Marketing communications: opt out of non-essential emails using the unsubscribe link, or by emailing us.

If you are in the EU, UK, or California, you have additional rights under the GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA, including the right to object to processing and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Contact privacy@challengeez.com to exercise these rights.

7. Children's privacy

Challengeez is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact privacy@challengeez.com and we will delete it.

8. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), secure authentication, and access controls. No system is 100% secure, but we work continuously to protect your information. Report security concerns to security@challengeez.com.

9. International data transfers

Challengeez operates globally. Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States, where data protection laws may differ. We use appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) where required.

10. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you in the app or by email before the changes take effect. Continued use of Challengeez after the changes means you accept the updated Policy.
